Born This Way Single Theory

First Single - Born This Way

Let’s assume that Born This Way didn’t signify the birth of a new Gaga, but rather, it signified the birth of The Fame and Fame Monster Era Gaga. She was pretty much telling her story from the beginning. The Born This Way video was pretty much an allusion recapping her career and purpose from the beginning.

Second Single - Judas

By now, it has become apparent a major theme in Judas is a battle of Light verses Dark, Good versus Bad. The Fame versus The Fame Monster? Judas gives fans a first hand look at the struggle Gaga was faced with during the transition from a party pop album, The Fame, to the darker, more insightful, album, The Fame Monster.

Third Single - The Edge of Glory

Gaga has stated many times that the concept surrounding The Edge of Glory is death. Although she might have thought The Fame Monster would bring an end to her struggles, she realizes it didn’t, and the only way to truly free herself is by going back to New York and facing what’s been haunting her head on. Giving her somewhat of an exorcism of her past, New York has managed to free Gaga of these demons. The Edge of Glory represents the death of these demons, the death of The Fame and Fame Monster Gaga. Some things I noticed that could possibly point to this would be Gaga’s hair in The Edge of Glory. The black and blond streaks look like the final battle of light and dark is taking place in her hair. She IS her hair after all. What setting would be a better battleground to this struggle other than where it all started, the streets of New York. Maybe that Just Dance choreography wasn’t there just to celebrate it’s anniversary. Maybe it was actually Gaga reflecting and reminding herself who she was.

Possible Fourth Single - Marry the Night?

Originally, Gaga had stated that Marry the Night would be the last track on the album after The Edge of Glory, but things changed, and it became the first track on the album. Perhaps she originally wanted it to be the last track because it didn’t represent birth but instead represented rebirth. After the old Gaga was axed in The Edge of Glory, she felt reborn, a completely new person. Except this time around, she will be born as the Born This Way Era Gaga, something we have never seen before. I’m willing to bet that she will indeed die in one of her last The Edge of Glory performances to make this happen.

So maybe these first three singles were something similar to just a recap?
